Who We Are and Why We are Here

Our lives,our families,our very souls have been profoundly affected by someone else's decisions.

I would like to welcome all the new members. I would also like to share a little bit about who we are and why we are here.

We all love someone who is struggling with addiction. Our lives,our families,our very souls have been profoundly affected by someone else's decisions. We have been thrust into a world that is full of pain, worry and fear. We have cried,begged, prayed, threatened and nothing has changed. Except for us. We have become people we don't even recognize. I know this because my story runs the gamut. I have two sons addicted to heroin and homeless. I have a son in recovery. I also, because of addiction, have become a mom again to a beautiful little boy. So I know your heart. I at one point was the queen of enabling. I was willing to sacrifice everything and anything including my life to save my sons and if any of that worked, none of us would be here.

But we are.And this site ,as much as we love our children is not about them.It is about us.

We are here to help each other recover.We are here to learn how to ,while still loving our children learn to live our best lives.Lives that are peaceful,lives that are happy.Lives that we were meant to live.

While that doesn't mean we dont talk about our children,we need to be able to share our pain and our stories,it does mean that the focus is on us.Our healing,our boundaries,our emotional and physical well being.

The moms on this page are without a doubt the most loving,compassionate,understanding moms in the world.You will never be alone.You are safe.You are now surrounded by women who will lift you and love you without judgement.

So welcome.Share your story when you are ready.Share your pain and your fears.We will listen in love and understanding.Then,it is my hope that we can help you begin to heal.That we can despite whatever choices your addict is making help you to find your way back to your life.A life that has peace,happiness,joy and meaning.

It isnt easy.It is work.Often there will be two steps forward and one step backward.The important thing is that you keep moving forward.And we will be right there moving with you. Sending love and light to all our moms..Pam
